Welcome to The Sexual Health Working Group We are the Patient and Public Involvement Forum for Manchester Primary Care Trust and are independent of the NHS with government powers to make a real difference in how health services are delivered in the local community. Chlamydia screening for under 25’s – the Department of Health are targeting under 25’s to be screened for Chlamydia. Manchester Health Watchdog are looking at young people’s experiences of using R U Clear's home testing kits. To get hold of one yourself, follow the link to R U Clear’s website on the sidebar. Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) - If you have had unprotected sex (or shared drug injecting equipment) with somebody you know is HIV-positive, or is from a group at high risk of HIV, such as gay men, then you may be able to get a short course of anti-HIV drugs to try to prevent you becoming infected with HIV. This is called post exposure prophylaxis, or PEP for short and can be obtained from Sexual Health (GUM) clinics or hospitals, usually the A and E department.
